Janet pursued her law degree from Dalhousie University after having had a career with the Federal Government. She practices in two primary areas: family and labour and employment and has extensive experience litigating cases involving parenting arrangements for children, division of assets and child and spousal support.
As a result of her experience with the court system and the impact on her clients, Janet has received extensive training in resolving disputes without engaging the court system.
Janet is committed to the interdisciplinary collaborative model to resolve disputes in family law and is a founding member of Halifax Collaborative Practice which is based on the interdisciplinary collaborative model.
The Participation Agreement includes a commitment not to begin a court proceeding.
